Elizabeth (Carlock) Fancher: Her Obituary

The following obituary is from the Galveston Daily News, Galveston, Texas, Tuesday, 23 Jun 1891, p. 1:

“OBITUARY.  Mrs. Elizabeth Fancher.

“LITTLE ROCK, Ark., June 22. – News was received to-day of the death at her home near Carrolton of Mrs. Elizabeth Fancher, widow of Colonel James Fancher, at the advanced age of 92. She was probably the oldest, as she was the most remarkable woman in the state. She was a native of Tennessee, and had resided in Arkansas over sixty-five years. She was the mother of fourteen children, some of whom are now prominent in state affairs.”
