  1. I am the great grandson of Alexander R. Fancher. He was married on November 27, 1850 in McLellan county (Waco) and was the first tax assessor collector of that county. He eventually became a citizen of Hill county Texas (Hillsboro) and was a leutenant in the Conferacy and played the role as a peace keeper only. He never saw action and was considered a veteran. He recieved land, about one league (5000 x 5000 ft square) in which he created the Fancher Ranch near the town of Bomarton. The loading switch was known as the Fancher switch acording to his grandson and my father. Good information given above. Stanley Fancher
